Saturday August 8th

the longest day of my life by far. so Daryl and I woke up at like 7:50 and we had to sprint to foodland (we literally booked it as fast as we could) so we could get supplies for our team breakfast. I got yogurt, Daryl got bacon (of course she got assigned that haha) and we walked to Katie calls house where we crammed in there and had some good food. then we went to sharks cove, where we all snorkeled. it was soooo nuts!!! there were so many fish, just chilling, and then there were turtles and I saw a huge eel. EEK. sounds amazing yes? well for me no. hahha yes it was spectacular to see all these under water creatures, BUT I soon discovered I am awful at snorkeling. I was choking on the sea water the whole time and felt really panicked because I don't like having my noes covered. it sounds silly, but breathing through your mouth feels like I am an old lady about to die and I'm about to whisper my last words every time I breath. I hate it. I also brought my phone in with an under water case and tried to take pictures but it wasn't working out too good. so I felt dumb. hahaha it was quite an experience.
I then layed out with the team where I felt like a raisin, getting more shriveled the more I layed out. it was so scorching hot and I put on sunscreen like 5 times in an hour. but sunburnt skin was inevitable. then Daryl and I walked to Waimea bay where we met up with savannah and Brooke where we layed out, jumped off the huge cliff and it rained and we just sat out in it, it was wonderful
then we got on the bus and traveled to Haleiwa. it's the heart of north shore, where there's cute little shops and a boardwalk. it is a huge tourist spot, but its just the cutest. we went to a little pasta and pizza place, where i ate the whole huge pasta as big as my head. haha I was soo hungry.
Daryl snapped this picture of me and I think it's my favorite picture of myself. totally candid of me laughing. I had no idea she had even took it!

we then went around and looked inside surf shops, it was so cool. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything cause college is real and I did it!!! I was so happy I didn't, I just kept thinking how proud my mom would be. hahah we then went to the famous motsumotos snow cone shack and it was SO GOOD definetly worth the huge line.

we then got on the bus once again, where I sat next to a crazy old man who took out his whiskey bottle and drank it every 10 minutes. he tried to talk to us, but frankly I couldn't understand a word he said. my heart hurt so bad. he just wanted someone to talk to, but I couldn't understand and I was scared of him.  I was so intrigued, I wanted to know his story but my friends kinda hushed me not to talk to him. which is probably a good thing. I am so naive!! haha then we walked back to our dorms where immediately I started my laundry for the first time ever! haha two weeks worth oops. I asked a Tongan girl to help me where she just laughed at me as I had no idea what I was doing and kept asking dumb questions. Daryl came and did hers. I just kept thinking wow. we are so old. sitting in a laundromat in our dorm on a Saturday night. it took like two hours but I actually found it very relaxing. I can't wait to be a mom and do it all the time.. haha maybe that idealogy will change. I then fell asleep completely grateful for the life I was living and grateful I had found the importance in enjoying the simple things in life
